St Patrick’s College Maghera Reach Semi-Final

ST Patrick’s College, Maghera reached the semi-final of the Nannery Cup with victory over Omagh CBS. They have finished top of the group and now play St Paul’s, Bessbrook in the semi final.

Played in ideal conditions in Greencastle, it was the Omagh school who took a early lead but helped by goals from Eoghan Young and a rocket form Liam Cassidy, it was Maghera who led at the break.

St Patrick’s, Maghera went up another level in the second half and ran out convincing winners. Some brilliant defending from Conal McErlean and Ryan McGillion in defence helped steady the team.

Ciaran McGuigan and Peter Stuart were working very hard around the middle. Up front, Conor McAllister and James McCloskey were proving very hard to handle.

St Paul’s will prove very difficult in the semi final but no doubt if Maghera display the same attitude and effort, they will be rewarded with a place in the final.
