A large support turned out at Rossa Park Magherafelt on Sunday to witness the Derry ladies U-14 Championship Final.
The St Treas Ballymaguigan girls made it an unforgettable few weeks for the club by lifting their first ever ‘A’ title adding to the All County League which they won just a few weeks ago.
The Treas beat Moneymore a side whom they had met in the league decider a game which was a close affair and went to extra time. This game looked like it was going to be more of the same. Ballymaguigan took the lead early with a point before Moneymore hit two goals and a two points in the very early stages but like the earlier game the loughshore girls didn’t panic and slowly but surely they clawed their way back to go in at the half time break four points up.
The second half saw the Treas dominate with some solid defending and fine passages of play working the ball from the full back right through to the forward line and producing some great scores. Moneymore were held scoreless from the first ten minutes until the last few minutes when they grabbed a goal to leave the final score Ballymaguigan 4-18 Moneymore 3-02
