Dooks entered the 18th on 1up but Mulholland’s 10-foot putt pushed on events. The players shared the spoils across holes 19 and 20 before Mulholland gained a boost with a fine chip on to the green ahead of her composed finish.
“There were great scenes as an emotional captain, players and supporters mobbed the heroine,” said a spokesperson. “What a week, with the whole team a credit and the spirit and camaraderie of the team a pleasure to behold.
”Thanks to all those who travelled to cheer on the players, plus everyone who sent messages of support and congratulations.”
