Ritchie (13) was four over gross after the first nine holes which equated to 20 points. The second nine was played to his handicap but a double bogey on the 15th was costly as even a single bogey would have seen him finish second.
He had a better last six hole total than McElroy (11) whose first nine was made up of six pars and three bogeys. The second nine resulted in six bogeys plus three pars but he only scored 10 points on the last six holes which proved a setback.
The best gross saw Gary Black (1) return to the podium after he played the course in one over gross, having scored 11 pars, four bogeys and birdies on the second, ninth and 10th for a gross 69.
