It was an unlikely total after starting with a blank on the first but he steadied the ship and settled down to register his first win in a long time.

Simon Swaby (11) was the runner-up with his modest 35 points that included a blank at ‘Aintree’, the toughest hole on the course.

Birdies at the second, 11th and 13th were the highlights of his round with only one real blemish that resulted in a blank at the long 17th hole.

The handicapper will surely have noted this exceptional performance and reward Jason accordingly.

Early starter Eddie Porter (14) a winner at Easter, took the second spot with his 41 points and having recorded two very good scores recently lost an extra shot on the day and now has to manage off an eleven handicap.

Dan Hinds (4) overcame a disastrous triple bogey at the first to record 40 points, the best gross of the day and third nett overall.

James Lindsay, George Curry and Kealan Quigg were witnesses to Dan’s proud achievement. Kealan Quigg (+ 1) finished in third place overall with 38 points and his 39 points being the best gross on the day. A fourth nett prize went to Ronan Coyle (10) who is enjoying a fine run of form presently.
