Rockmount’s Ulster Cup team through

Brendan Houston’s Ulster four-ball team had an easy day’s work in the second leg of their match with Cushendall.

They travelled needing just a half match to progress to the next round and got it from the first match. The team will now play either Lisburn Golf Club or Castlerock Golf Club in the second round.

Rockmount results

On Saturday, Owen Flynn (13) won the Danske Bank sponsored stableford competition with an excellent score of 40 points. Second place went to Mel Power (12) who also scored 40 points but was beaten on count-back.

The low section (0–11) was won by Colin Childs (11) who scored 39 points. The middle section (12–18) was won by Colin McNeill (16) also with 37 points and the high section (19–28) by John McGrath (19) who also scored 39 points.

Last week’s second placed Laurence Murdock (7) continued his good form by winning the gross prize with a four over par 76.
