Sheena wins the battle of the past captains with 36 points

Last Thursday the past Lady Captains played for their prizes and Sheena McStay took the honours with 36 pts.

Sheena just beat Dorothy Woods on the better back 9 to leave Dorothy in the runners-up spot. Grizel Turkington won the front 9 with 19 pts and Diana McClelland won the back 9 with 18 pts.

The ladies all enjoyed their get together and it was another lovely day but unfortunately it also reminded us all that we are getting very close to the end of what has been a fantastic season.

Young Ella Beatty has very recently taken up golf and she claimed her first win in the ladies section with a fabulous 43 pts.

Ella hails from the McKavanagh school of golf and no doubt her nanny Betty will be making sure she upholds the family name and continues her good play.

Her highlight must surely be a birdie 3 at the tenth and while Ella lost 4 shots off her handicap, Members are sure there are many more big cuts to follow for this promising young golfer.
