Handball sessions return to Coleraine

Following the success of the introduction of Olympic Handball to Coleraine last year, the Coleraine Olympic Handball Club prepares to start their next set of sessions on Monday 16th September at University of Ulster, Coleraine.

The game is the second largest team sport in Europe behind Football and the 7-a-side format provides end to end action and can be played by both men and women.

Each session will be lead by qualified Handball coaches and anyone 16 years and over can attend.

Stephen McCartney, Community Sports Development Officer at Coleraine Borough Council said: “Handball is a brilliant team sport, it is really easy to pick up and is great for fitness along with improving handling and catching skills.

“Anyone that has played Rugby, Football, Cricket, Netball, Basketball, Gaelic Football etc will take to it straight away.”

Sessions start on Monday 16th September at the University of Ulster, Sports Hall from 7.30pm until 8.30pm and continue every Monday until 25th November.

The cost is £2 per session and all ability levels are encouraged to attend regardless of whether they have ever tried the sport before, as everyone with all abilities are welcome to come along.
