Harriers in Belfast Marathon top 20

SPERRIN Harriers were well represented at Belfast City Marathon, which took place on the May Day Bank holiday, the overall race was wo.

Harriers had two finishers in top 20, Delfim Pimintel in 13th place with a brilliant time of 2 hrs 46 mins, and Donal Gallagher 20th with a time of 2 hrs 49 mins a tremendous achievement for both!

Team Sperrin Harriers crossed the line in 3.40. Well done to all those who took part!

Termoneeny 10k

Termoneeny held their annual 10k in Lavey on Sunday, another well organised event and an attendance of almost 140 athletes from across the province. The wet and windy conditions on did not deter the Harriers contingent, 24 club members on the line. Whilst Tommy Hughes took first place overall Aaron Meharg and Jonathan Dempsey were the first two home, Aaron 6th overall in 36.32 and Johnny 9th in 37.44.

Karen Alexander’s amazing run continued, victory in Downpatrick 14k event in 52.47.

Extreme Adventure

Marty McGirr and Gary McGuckin travelled to Donegal for the 17.5 mile run, Culdaff to Moville, a good opportunity for a longer distance run in preparation for the Walled City Marathon. Conditions were damp and windy, some very testing hills, but both crossed the line in 2 hours 27 mins.

Craigavon

Russell Bell took part in Craigavon Park, completing in 21.50.

This will be the second year running of the very successful event on Saturday 15th June at Meadowbank Sports Arena Magherafelt.

It covers 5 miles and gives all Ladies a choice to Walk, Jog or Race. This is certain once again to be a fun filled ‘ girly day out’, the day will include a D.J. playing all your favourite tunes and also a dance warm-up to get you motivated at the start line, first 200 entrants will receive a t.shirt and goody bag.

Train at Magherafelt at Meadowbank Sports Arena - Monday at 6.45pm, and Wednesday at 7.30pm In Cookstown it’s at Loughry College Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6.30pm. Beginners and new members welcome.
