It’s tight at the top in Towers pool league

Coach 2, Minnesota Inbetweeners 4: Gary Ormandy got the Inbetweeners off to a good start with a 2-1 come from behind win over Chris Gordon. In the second game Aidy Rouke restored parity for the Coach with a 2-1 win over Ryan Logan. Phil Houston put the champions ahead yet again with a 2-0 win over Frazer Young. Dessie Cooper then made the match score 3-1 for the Inbetweeners with a win in straight frames over David Gillespie. In the fifth game Gareth Rowe came from behind to win 2-1 against David Carlisle and in the final game Darren Gilmore had a 2-0 win over Craig Laughlin. POM - Darren Gilmore.

Connolly’s 5, Fairhill Rockets 1: Ryan Foster and Ian Boal gave Connolly’s the perfect start with 2-0 wins over Linzi McClelland and Barry Kernohan. Ian Dewar reduced the deficit for the Fairhill with a win in straight frames over Alan Davidson. Dee Erwin then made the match score 3-1 to Connolly’s with a 2-0 win over Nigel McMaster. The final two games went both the same with the Rockets winning the first frame only to lose both games 2-1, the winners for Connolly’s were Keiran Butler and Pat McAnally. POM - Ian Dewar.

Fairhill Hustlers 4, Moat ‘A’ 2: Sean Brannigan had a 2-0 win over Michael Thompson to set the ball rolling for the home team. Rab Graham came from behind to win 2-1 against Ryan Stewart and Ritchie Irwin made the match score 3-0 for the Hustlers with a 2-0 win over Darren Campbell. Alan Rainey started a comeback for the Moat with a 2-0 win over George McCullough. Glenn Mairs restored the three game for the Hustlers with a 2-1 win over Jason McKay. In the final game, Moat’s David Nicholl had a win in straight frames over Justin Kilpatrick. POM - Ritchie Irwin

Moat ‘B’ 1, Michelin Masters 5: David Armstrong got the Masters off to a flying start with a 2-0 win over William Wilson. In the next three games Michelin had 2-0 wins to establish a 4-0 lead in the match, the Michelin winners were Chris Penny, Brian Hanna and Alan Armstrong. Rick McMaster then made the match score 5-0 for the Masters with a win in straight frames over Steven Magill. In the final game Daniel Magill avoided the white wash for the Moat with a 2-0 win over Jimmy Knowles. POM - Daniel Magill.

Towers Tavern 5, Social Club 1: Drew Sloan won the first game for the Towers with a 2-0 win over Marc McMullan. Shane Moody made it 2-0 for the Towers with a 2-1 win over Eddie Fleck. Albert McBride pulled a game back for the Social Club with a 2-1 win over Allister Law. In the final three games it was all plain sailing for the Towers with 2-0 victories from Dean Greer, James Millar and K.D. Crabbe.
