Mark seals it for Sarsfields

Sarsfields 1-12 Dromintee 1-10

DROMINTEE might have gone three goals up in the early stages, but Sarsfields weathered the storm and went on to lead by 0-07 to 0-02 at half time.

Dromintee came back in the second half and a goal with ten minutes remaining put them a point ahead for the first time in the match.

Sarsfields responded superbly and Michael Stevenson hit three points in as many minutes to edge Sarsfields back in front. A Mark Reynold’s goal in the dying moments sealed the victory, extending the Highmoss lead to four points but credit to Dromintee who hit a point and had a couple of chances to grab the goal that could have levelled the match including a shot off the crossbar. Micheál O’Rourke saw a last gasp goal opportunity flash over the bar just on the final whistle.

Well done to both teams for brightening up a dreary night in terms of the weather and providing some excitement for the supporters who came out in spite of the conditions.
