Carn to host Tour of Ulster

Carn Wheelers are proud to announce that they will host the 2013 Tour of Ulster Cycle Race on May 4-6.

Historically the Ulster Cycles Promotion Club promoted this race but stated a few weeks ago that it will not go ahead for 2013.

The race fits neatly in the calendar in preparation for the Rás so rather than see the race disappear Carn Wheelers will take over for next year.

Planning is still at an early stage for 2013, however it is confirmed that on the Sunday stage the Patsy O’Connor Cup will be up for grabs for the stage winner around Clann Eireann’s Tour of Armagh route.

Further information will be released in due course however please contact Aidan Higgins if you require any more details in the interim.

Well done to Cathal Doyle who won the Supercross race at the Dublin Cyclocross at the weekend. Keep up the hard work Cathal!!!

It’s nearly that time of year again when the licences are due for renewal. It is highly recommended, both by the club and Cycling Ireland that members renew their licences online for 2013 - it cuts down paperwork and is much handier for everyone.

You will be able to renew from 5th November 2012 and everyone is encouraged to do so as soon as they can to allow licences to be printed and issued in good time for 2013 events.

If you have problems logging in, or have forgotten your details you can reset them via the Cycling Ireland website or email for login issues assistance.

Club membership remains £10 (free for U18s) which can be paid at the AGM on 6th December or by calling in to Tommie’s shop.

Please note that Sunday cycle now leaves at a new time of 9am, from Maghera Leisure Centre

The Carn Wheelers AGM will take place on Thursday 6th December, so put this date into the diary.
