COLLY and Niall Gallagher made the trip to sunny Spain, where they would join the other 10,000 competitors in the Madrid Marathon. Colly had a great run finishing in 3 hours 28 mins, and Niall crossed the line in 4 hours 2 mins.
Well done to Colly and Niall, it was great to see the Sperrin Harriers being represented in this International event.
Four Sperrin Harriers made the trip to Armagh on Sunday for the annual 10k event, which starts on College Hill, close to the Armagh City Planetarium.
The course then leaves the city and takes competitors on a 6.2 mile journey across rural roads, before finishing back in the City Centre. Approx 250 competitors took part in the event and the Sperrin Harriers finishing times were as follows:- Paul McLaughlin (27th) 41.08, Gary Coleman (46th) 43.14, Toirleach Gourley (61st) 44.44 and Ciara Coyle (84th) 47.31.
St Benedict’s College Run (Randalstown) – Meharg takes 1st Place
Aaron Meharg and Adele McNally attended the Randalstown run on Saturday morning, which took place through the Shane’s Castle estate. Weather conditions were ideal and Aaron picked up first place with a great time of 33.33, and Adele had a great run finishing with a PB of 48.24.
Stunnerz In Runnerz
This will be the second year running of the very successful ‘LADIES ONLY STUNNERZ IN RUNNERZ’ sponsored by JK Coaches. This event is due to take place on Saturday 15th June 2013 at Meadowbank Sports Arena Magherafelt at 12pm. This event covers a distance of 5 miles and gives all Ladies a choice to Walk, Jog or Race. This is certain once again to be a fun filled ‘ girly day out’, the day will include a D.J. playing all your favourite tunes and also a dance warm-up to get you motivated at the start line, first 200 entrants will receive a ‘Stunnerz in Runnerz’ T shirt and a girly goody bag.

In order to ensure that all race results and events are captured in time for our weekly press release, Members are advised to ensure that they send through their times, reports, updates etc.to Francis Purvis or Gary McGuckin – contact details are available on the club website.
Harriers continue to train in Magherafelt at Meadow Bank Sports Arena on a Monday at 6.45pm, and a Wednesday at 7.30pm.
Cookstown training takes place at Loughry College on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s at 6.30pm.
Beginners and new members are welcome, as we cater for all abilities.
