SIX Harriers made the trip to Newcastle for the Great North Run. At 10.40am the Harriers set off along with over 40,000 other runners with Alvin Taylor the first to make a move closely followed by Kevin Murphy, Francis Stewart, Paul McErlain, Darren Warnock and Paddy Quinn. With good running conditions times were going to be quick for the athletes on what is always a fast course.
At the finish line in South Shields Alvin crossed the line in a new PB of 1:25 closely followed by Francis 1:28, Kevin Murphy was next across the line in 1:34 and with Paul running well just three weeks after his Ironman just behind in 1:35. Darren Warnock in his first Great North Run came home in 1:41 and Paddy Quinn despite suffering from the flu finished in 1:49. Well done lads great running!
