McNally leads the field

This week in the Bannside Electrical Services time trial league several personal bests were broken or come close to.

Gerard McNally came within two seconds of getting into the 22 minute bracket by posting a time of 23.01.

Jason Henry came a close second with a time of 23 minutes 15 seconds with Adrian Devine taking third in 23.42.

Another notable result was returned by brothers Fergus and Shaun Byrne. The brothers who are both very dedicated and competitive managed to break the 30 minute barrier for the fist time with Shaun posting a superb time of 28.54 with Fergus just under a minute behind with a time of 29.52.

With a vibrant youth scene in the Club at the minute Fergus and Shaun are leading the way for the other young members and showing what is possible with dedication and hard work. Congratulations to both.

The first round of the Interclub league was held on Thursday evening hosted by Spires CC. The Bannvalley team were Paul Mc Quillan, Alan Donegan, Sean Kelly, Colin Madden, Gerard Mc Nally, Dean Mc Ilfatrick, Martin Robb, Micheal Clarke, John Mc Elderry and John Dickey.

The riders rode well in their groups with Marty Robb gaining some points with a well deserved seventh place.
