Successful gymkhana at Castledawson

THE weather proved ideal when Mid Ulster Showjumpers held their latest gymkhana at Castledawson.

The venue was on the lands of Mr Hugh Nicholl, 136 Hillhead Road, and good entries were recorded for the various horse and pony categories. Thanks is offered to the judges on this day, who were Lesley Ann McWilliams, Hugh and Dorothy Nicholl.

Results were; Junior jumping – 1st, Daniel Dallas (Rolo). Fledglings – Niamh Porter Payne (Wynn Dixie), Aimee Fleming (Lady), Katie Campbell (Buttons), Luke Cunningham (Bugsy), William Hamilton (Kimblewick).

Pony Warm Up – 1st, (drawn for) William Hamilton (Kimblewick); also clear, Aimee Fleming (Lady), Ellie Tsang (Miss Ellie), Tia Tsang (Tillie), Alex McMaster (Miles), and Luke Cunningham (Bugsy).

12.2 Novice – 1st, William Hamilton (Kimblewick); 2nd Ellen Bates (Ellie). 12.2 Open – 1st, Tia Tsang (Tillie); 2nd, Ellie Tsang (Miss Elle).

13.2 Novice – 1st, Ellen Bates (Ellie); 2nd, Emma Wright (Blue). 13.2 Open – 1st Emma Wright (Blue); 2nd, Erin Dunseath (Malibu).

14.2 Novice – 1st, Hannah Thompson (Sophie). Horses – Warm Up – 1st (drawn for), Bertha Rea (Fair Exchange). 60cms – 1st, Bertha Rea (Fair Exchange); 2nd, Donna Campbell (Sasha).

70 cms – 1st, Kirsten Thom (Nathan); 2nd, Ricky Ross (Razz) ; 15. 2 – 1st, Michaela Carlin (Scorpio); 2nd, Ricky Ross (Razz).

90cms – 1st, John McKirgan (Gracefield Maximus); 2nd, Callum Coogan (Jessop). 1 meter – 1st, Trevor Johnston (Bobby Dazzler).

The next gymkhana to be staged at Hillhead Road will be the annual Tamniarn charity show on Saturday, June 29. Proceeds here will go to the Castle Hill Special Needs Residents Fund.
