New start and new hope for Whites

A NEW start, a new season and new hope for cash beleaguered Lisburn Distillery as they prepare to launch their Carling campaign at home to Glentoran on Saturday.

It is a tough start to the league programme for the Whites as they face Crusaders and Linfield in the next two fixtures.

However, off the field developments include the ground bring offered to the people behind the Drumbo Park Greyhound Racing for 825,000.

Drumbo Park opened two years ago this month and the 3m facility has a contract with the Football Club which gives them first option on the ground sale.

"Drumbo Park will get first option and they have 20 days in which to accept or decline the offer," said Distillery chairman Bobby Hanna.

"If they are not interested I have been informed by Moore Stephens, who are handling the CVA, there is another interested party who wants to buy the ground. Getting the ground sold will help us get everything sorted out regarding the debt and we can then move forward."
