NOW LET'S WIN IT!

BALLYMONEY'S rugby stars will feel more than the hands of their opponents on their shoulders this Easter Monday.

The local lads could write their names into the history books if they win the Towns' Cup for the first time when they face Clogher Valley.

Ballymoney have never won the prestigious competition but coach Jason Taggart (pictured) is determined to change that at Ravenhill - the home of Ulster rugby - on Monday afternoon.

"We have come this far and we are not going to roll over now," he told Times Sport.

"We beat them three times already and we are certainly not going to let them beat us up there.

"They are a good side with a massive pack.

"It is going to be a big ask but we have had a great season.

"The club has never done this before and it would be something else if we could bring the Towns' Cup back to Ballymoney.

"On Saturday there were a few old boys standing and you could see how happy they were and pleased that we had done it.

"If we could go on and win it it would be a major achievement, it would be massive."

Taggart admits some players may have a few pre-match kitters but is confident they will go out onto the famous pitch focused on the job in hand.

"The nerves will be there," he said.

"It is going to be a massive day in front of a big crowd but we have built up to this all year.

"This is everybody's dream.

"Words can't describe what it means.

"If we won the celebrations wouldn't stop for a month.

"We go into the game not cocky, but confident.

"We just need to play our usual game.

"The forwards will be out to set the platform from the start and the backs will do their job.

"It would be our most successful season ever if we do this and this may be the best side that has come through together.

"But we won't get carried away yet, we will keep our feet on the ground.

"We aren't going out expecting to win it, we are going to make it happen."
