Physiotherapy clinic at Cookstown Leisure Centre

SINCE September last year, Cookstown Leisure Centre have been operating a Physiotherapy Clinic.

Richard McCrea - a chartered physiotherapist and rugby player with Rainey Old Boys -runs the clinic, having a keen interest in the field.

From February, the clinic will be expanding its opening hours and is planning to open Monday daytime and Wednesday evenings.

You can contact the Leisure Centre directly for an appointment time. Assessment and treatment advice can be given for a large range of conditions such as neck and back pain, muscle and joint injuries, foot pain, rehabilitation programmes and sport-related injuries. Any post-op rehabilitation can also be completed.

Richard qualified from the University of Teeside in 2000 and has gained experience working in Middlesborough, Newcastle, Tasmania, Australia and in a North Yorkshire rehabilitation unit. On returning to Northern Ireland Richard has been working with Teresa Hastings in a private practice in Magherafelt and a rehabilitation unit in Antrim.

Richard is also a qualified Pilates instructor and uses this to compliment his rehabilitation programmes, but he also has a certificate in Manual Therapy. Treatments will be discussed and individualised to each client’s injury and needs.
