POOL: Thatch are Champion of Champions

Larne’s Thatch Bar Pool team have been crowned Northern Ireland Pool Association’s Champion of Champions for the second year on the bounce.

Bryan McWhirter’s team saw off Ross’s Bar (Ballynahinch), Connolly’s (Ballymena), Swift Bar (Carrickfergus) and Michelin Masters (Ballymena) to lift the title once again.

The competition was held in the Swift Bar and it was nearly an all-Larne final as William Irvine’s No. 1 Club, runners-up to Thatch in this year’s Larne and District Pool League, led Michelin Masters in the second semi-final but just couldn’t get over the line.
