Rainey Endowed U14 hockey

THE Rainey U14 hockey team have reached the semi final of the Ulster Junior Schools Cup.

The school, finalists over the last few years, have now reached the semi finals for the fifth year in a row.

The U14 side defeated Friends School, Lisburn 2-0, Glenola Collegiate 3-1 and Regent House 3-1 to reach the quarter finals against Belfast High School.

This fixture took place on Thursday 26th January at the University of Ulster, Jordanstown. Belfast HS opened the scoring just before the half time interval but Rainey were not disheartened and goals from Rachel Burns, Lauren McGookin and Kirsty McLarnon sealed an impressive 3-1 victory.

The girls must not wait for the result of the Sullivan Upper v Royal School Armagh to see who they face in the semi final.
