St Colman’s take another step towards title

St. Colman’s took another step closer to winning the North West Indoor Bowling League for the first time with another emphatic win, this time away to Dunloy Presbyterian.

They however, still, have a couple of matches left which they must get over, as both the Marian and St. Mary’s can mathematically over take them in the race for League honours.

First up for St. Colman’s was Paul McCook and he saw off Mark Shaw (D’loy) with ease.

David Walker (St. C’man’s) had a tougher nut to crack in the form of David Caldwell (D’loy) but Walker went through 12-7.

Mark McCullagh (D’loy) then played Matin McAleese (St. C’man’s) and McCullagh lost 14-7.

Aaran Tennant made it a full house for the visitors when he beat Stephen Dunlop (D’loy) by three shots.

Second Kilrea hosted near neighbours the Marian and in a tight game the Marian won by four shots.

Brian McAlary put the Marian one up when he defeated Ivan Smyth (K’rea) by one shot.

Margaret Johnston (K’rea) squared the match with a five shot win against James Martin (Marian).

Brian McGrath then eased Second Kilrea in front with a win over Aidan Cassley (Marian).

It was left to William McCaw to get the overall win and true to form he had a good win over Nicky McCaw (K’rea) to give the Marian the bonus points.
