Moyola Park rallied in the second half to overcome neighbours Tobermore United in closely contested local derby at Fortwilliam Park.
Moyola’s Chris Doey was in a brilliant form, scoring a hat-trick and his 31st goal of the season.
Tobermore got the Tuesday evening encounter off to a flying start with Ryan Witton bagging the opener within just two minutes.
In the 30th minute the visitors’ equalised with a 25-yard strike from Doey in to the back of the net.
Five minutes later Witton was denied a penalty, and the home side were unlucky not to score on at least two other occasions before the interval.
Trevor Parkhill got their noses in front again with a close range strike in the 55th minute.
But Doey got Moyola back on equal terms when poor marking allowed him a straight run down the middle with only the goalkeeper to beat.
With 15 minutes remaining Doey got his hat-trick with another long range effort which looked to be going wide.
In the closing minutes Tobermore thought they were back in the game when Parkhill chipped the keeper and the ball looked as if it had crossed the line, but the referee ignored the protests.
Tobermore have two league matches left, this Saturday against Newington YC at Fortwilliam with a 3pm kick off and on May 10 against Killymoon at Cookstown.
