WENDY Houvenaghel put her Olympic disappointment behind her to retain the British Time Trial Championship at the weekend.

The former Upperlands woman clocked a fast time of 48 minutes 55 minutes over the 21-mile long circuit in Leicestershire, giving her victory by a minute from runner up Julia Shaw, while Emma Trott was a further minute back in third.

Wendy had a point to prove having been dropped at the last minute from the line-up that won gold for Great Britain in the team pursuit at the London Olympics.
