Holy Trinity College bids farewell to '˜legendary' teacher Mr Henry

Holy Trinity College has said goodbye to one of its 'best teachers' this week when Mr Henry decided to put away the books after 40 years.

At farewell event for ‘Hen Dog’ students wore cut out masks of the “pure gentlemen”, and he didn’t leave empty-handed.

Many have paid tribute to him on social media, while Mr Henry left with a brand new pair of wellies, complete with straw, a beautifully painted stool and a personalised Tyrone jersey.

A message on the HTC site said: “Here at HTC our beloved Mr Henry decided to retire, but of course we were not going to let him go quietly!!

“We came together to celebrate the legend that is Hen Dog!! Special Thanks to Sign Works Cookstown for our Mr Henry Masks and Cut outs!”

“Mr Henry a pure gentleman!! Will be missed,” said one tribute.

“Sir Henry I followed you and I followed you and I didn’t get lost. All the best SIR!” said another.

“What a man! The craic was always great when big Henry was about! HTC will certainly miss him. But he will always be remembered. Good luck Seamus you big legend.”

Pupils also put together a tribute video to one of their favourite teachers, which was shown in the Ritz Multiplex when they visited.
