Callum Townsend (23), of Manor Park, faces eight charges of stealing cash on dates between February and November 2014.

The court heard Townsend had set up a social media business selling items such as football tops and hanging baskets.

A defence barrister argued that the defendant had not received cash and people purchasing items had paid into his bank account.

He added concerns were raised when people did not receive what they ordered and there were no refunds.

After some legal argument, District Judge Alan White adjourned the case until February 17 to give the prosecution an opportunity to look at the papers with reference to accused stealing cash.
