MLA Hunter welcomes school uniforms response

Cara Hunter said: “I raised with Minister Weir my concerns about the cost of school uniforms. I was glad to see that the Department expects schools to give a high priority to cost considerations when designing uniforms and that costs be kept to a minimum. I also welcome that the Department asks schools to adopt a flexible approach to uniforms with regard to relevant legislation, as well as asking schools to show flexibility around uniforms given the circumstances with the pandemic. I also hope schools will give increased consideration to girls being allowed to wear trousers.”
