Magherafelt staff at Acheson & Glover help raise £10k for Cancer Focus NI

Acheson & Glover staff in Magherafelt have helped raise a smashing £10,000 in support of the company's designated charity, Cancer Focus NI.

The target was reached following a series of fundraising activities and a Christmas donation from the company.

Activities included coffee mornings and raffles, ‘colour’ themed days and Blue Cross sales. Eight ‘game’ male volunteers from AG’s Omagh and Magherafelt sites also volunteered to be sponsored to take part in Cancer Focus’ ‘van pull’ campaign, which saw the van pulled 30,000 miles collectively by people across Northern Ireland’s towns.

Cathy Donnelly, Health, Safety and Environment Manager at AG, said: “Cancer Focus NI is a worthy cause and helps so many families in the communities we operate in. Our staff really get behind the series of fundraising events and the amount they’ve raised proves it.

“As a responsible employer and member of the community, Acheson & Glover was only too delighted to boost the total raised and take us to that impressive £10K milestone.”

Rosie Forsythe, Corporate Fundraising Manager at Cancer Focus NI, said, “Thank you so much to Acheson & Glover for choosing Cancer Focus NI and putting so much effort into their fundraising efforts throughout the year. Thank you so much to everyone who attended and donated, we really appreciate it.”
