Mixing it with Tour de France and world riders
This was the weekend of the National Championships in cycling with BCC riders Aaron Swan and Ryan Bankhead travelling to Kilcullen, Co Kildare.
They made the trip to race with Team Sky’s Nicholas Roche, three-time national champion Dimension Data rider Matt Brammier and the Irish riders who are plying their trade against the best in the world.

Hide AdWhile Ryan and Aaron were getting ready for international duty, their team mates Chris McCloskey and Stuart Laverty were winning the club and inter-club races.
Chris won for the first time in over 30 years at the Ballymoney CC Australian Pursuit race from Kevin McCambridge and Kyle Fleming.
Chris had enjoyed success when racing before with Team Route but has only just returned to cycling, enjoying the sportives and fundraising events.
Stuart Laverty was the winner again at the North Region Interclub series at Dervock last week and then again on Wednesday evening at the Giant’s Causeway. Laverty and his team mates controlled the eight club 30 mile race and with his team mates attacking to keep the opposition busy.
