Serious injuries mar matches

THE good weather at weekend continued with the fixtures across the four divisions being played.
Unfortunately due to a bad injury to Mark Jamison of Ballycastle the game at Desertmartin was stopped early with Mark having to be taken to hospital with a suspected broken leg.

Hide AdAnother player who suffered an injury was Colin McCrory of Clough Rangers Athletic who had to be taken to hospital with a dislocated shoulder.
Latest news is Colin has been discharged from hospital but Mark is in the RVH Belfast for surgery on Monday.
Everyone wishes both players a speedy recovery from their injuries.

Clough Rangers Athletic 2 v 2 Rasharkin United
Both teams settled early in this derby game but the first goal did not come until the 20th minute. This was a penalty which Ian Parkhill converted for Rasharkin and minutes after this Clough had a man sent off for a 2nd yellow card.

Hide AdThough a man short Clough were never out of the game and at half-time the single goal divided the teams. The second half saw Clough get back level after Dean Dunlop scored on the 60th minute and followed this up with a second goal when Aaron Wilkinson ran through to score on the 70th minute.
Clough then had a second player sent off for a 2nd booking and as time began to run down Dale Armstrong scored the equaliser for Rasharkin on the 83rd minute.

Dunloy 1 v 3 Brantwood
Brantwood started off the game on attack and this paid off for them with Sean McClenaghan scoring their first goal on the 17th minute. Dunloy came into the game after this goal but then fell further behind after Kieran Carson scored a second goal for Brantwood on the 33rd minute giving them a two goal cushion at half-time.
The second half saw Dunloy push forward and brought them back into the game after he converted a penalty on the 69th minute. Dunloy then went all-out for the equaliser but Brantwood held out and sealed the win after Matty Armstrong scored on the 91st minute. Referee Mr Noel Crossan

Hide AdThis game was stopped on the 57th minute with the agreement of both teams when an injury to the Ballycastle player Mark Jamison required an ambulance to take him to hospital and a second ambulance having to be called due to a spectator suddenly collapsing.

This was a corker of a game but at half-time no goals had been scored.
This changed on the 54th minute when Andre Graur cut in from the right wing before slotting the ball into the corner of the Killymoon Net.
Ballymoney then went two goals clear on the 65th minute after Trevor McLernon scored with a well directed free kick. Killymoon then got back into the game when Steven Purvis scored on the 76th minute and then pushed for the equaliser but Ballymoney held firm for the win. Referee Mr Mark O’Neil
Moyola Park Olympic 5 v 0 Finvoy

Hide AdBoth teams were more or less on a level footing last season but with the loss of a number of players in the close season Finvoy are re-building whereas Moyola have strengthened with a number of new signings.
Half-time saw no goals scored but what a difference two quick goals did after Chris Clail and Ally McFall scored for Moyola on the 50th and 55th minutes. Moyola then struck with three more goals scored by Curtis Hassan on the 70th minute and a brace from Darren Cummins on the 75th and 80th minutes.

Glebe had to come from a two goal deficit to win this game. Glanville took a two goal lead early in the first-half but as half-time approached Andy Mooney pulled a goal back for Glebe.
Early in the second half Jackie Morrison equalised for Glebe who then scored three m ore goals through Andy Mooney, Glenn McLaughlin and Jackie Morris on without reply.
