Spectacular line-up of vintage vehicles coming to Tamlaght O'Crilly outside Maghera

Once again, the eagerly anticipated Country Fair and Vintage Rally in Tamlaght O'Crilly is providing an exceptional afternoon out for Vintage enthusiasts and all the family, young and old next Saturday [May 28].

The village of Tamlaght O’Crilly, outside Upperlands will be packed with well over 200 vintage cars, tractors, stationary engines, motorcycles and lorries.

The Victor Getty cup and the David Dempsey cup will be judged by Sean Henry, Mid Ulster Council, who will also be opening the show at 12 noon. Sean will also be judging the Pet Show later in the afternoon so bring all your pets, furry and otherwise along.

Jordan Mogey, from Ballymoney, an up and coming star of the future, will be providing music along with Country Features from County Fermanagh who provide all your favourite country hits.

Jordan has been likened to a young Johnny Cash, a delight not to be missed.

Matthew Sloan will be demonstrating jiving to the music and why not put your dancing shoes on, grab a partner and enter our jiving competition. No registration needed, just come along and join in. The theme this year is an Ulster Heritage Day.

Come along and see the sights and sounds of life from yesteryear. There will be traditional pancakes hot off the griddle, spinning, bee-keeping and horse threshing.

An Ulster Scots showcase will provide entertainment. Along with others there will be piping from champion piper Andy McGregor.

Andy currently manages the Ulster Scots Juvenile Pipe Band. Living History Ireland will be dressed in period costume and will be re-enacting historical scenes.

Radio Ulster presenter, Anne Morrison-Smyth will be recording at the show for her programme A Kist o Wurds, the longest running Ulster Scots programme on radio.

Keeping with the traditional heritage day, Petals and Petals will be appearing. These glamourous ladies will be in period costume.

For the children, Corbally Fun Farm and Arron’s Animals will be on display. Have a ride on a Shetland pony, see the farm animals and lots of varieties of birds and rabbits.

As well as the animals there will be an opportunity to have a bounceabout on an inflatable lorry! Lots of side shows and fairground games will provide fun including the Rickety wheel and Tombola.

Ladies can avail of the great variety of Arts and Crafts that will have something for everyone from jewellery to paintings. These will be set up in the School.

All the usual teas, Cecil’s barbeque and cake stall will be available on the day. Make Tamlaght O’Crilly the place to be on Saturday May 28th. There is a terrific line up of attractions and once again Tamlaght O’Crilly Parish Vintage Group has shown that their show is one of the top rallies in the North.
